There will be more macaroni, more cheese and one more Golden Noodle Award, above, to present at this year’s Mac & Cheese Fest in Chicago. The event takes place Oct. 24 at the University of Illinois at Chicago Forum.

The response to last year’s inaugural festival was so positive — it sold out, with 2,500 attendees — that its organizers, Melinda Joseph and Cece Gonzales, have expanded the event to two sessions: lunch from noon to 3 p.m. and dinner from 7 to 10 p.m. More than 50 restaurants will participate in each session.

Kitty O’Sheas will vie for a second Golden Noodle Award, which will go to the restaurant in each session with the winning recipe.

Tickets are $60 per session and will be available Aug. 31 through macandcheesechicago.com or Ticketmaster. Entry (attendees must be at least 10 years old) includes all you can eat plus five drink tickets.
